About the Role
As an Estate Appraisal Assessor, you will support the Property & Asset Services team by planning, coordinating and delivering estate appraisal activities across Defence sites, ensuring accurate asset condition data, maintaining database integrity and preparing recommendations for the Defence Estate Works Program. • Identify non‑conformities, support corrective actions and complete mandatory SHEQ training. • Develop and manage physical appraisal schedules and coordinate asbestos inspections. • Conduct QA checks, prepare recommendations for the Estate Works Program, and update asset databases. • Support annual desktop appraisals and coordinate technical inputs such as fire safety surveys and heritage plans. • Manage appraisal work orders in SAP and GEMS and provide regular reporting to Defence assurance requests. • Liaise with Defence personnel to arrange site access and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. • Collaborate with technical officers and internal service lines, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a tertiary qualification in asset management, engineering, facilities management or a related discipline, possesses strong knowledge of asset management and estate appraisal principles, is proficient in SAP, MS Word and Excel, and demonstrates high attention to detail, problem‑solving ability and independent work skills. Experience in asset appraisal or facilities management, especially within Defence, and eligibility for a Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizenship and an AFP check) are required. • Comply with SHEQ management systems and promote a positive safety culture. • Hold a tertiary qualification in asset management, engineering, facilities management or a related field (desirable). • Demonstrate strong knowledge of asset management and estate appraisal principles. • Proficient in SAP, MS Word, and Excel with high attention to detail and problem‑solving ability. • Ability to work independently in complex environments and adapt collaboratively. • Experience in asset appraisal or facilities management, preferably within Defence. • Eligible for Defence Security Clearance (Australian citizen with AFP check). • Uniform and PPE provided.
