About the Role

The Sprag Cell Operator cuts sprag stock to specified lengths, tumbles and visually inspects sprags, and prepares them for subsequent operations, encompassing all tasks from the Sprag Grind Classification. • Follow standard work procedures for the Sprag Cell. • Set up, operate, and change‑over sprag saws and adjust machine offsets. • Monitor machinery and conduct in‑process quality checks using micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, digital devices, and optical comparators. • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials on machines. • Report equipment malfunctions to the appropriate parties. • Maintain a clean work area following 6S standards. • Visually inspect each sprag for pitting and other defects. • Prepare sprags for heat‑treat processes. • Utilize blueprints and work instructions to accurately produce sprags. • Change tumble media and compounds as required. • Perform daily and weekly maintenance on saw and sort equipment. • Document in‑spec and scrap pieces and complete quality documentation. • Read and interpret blueprints, routings, and work instructions. • Measure parts using appropriate measuring tools. • Determine proper timing for changing saw blades and CBN wheels.

What You Bring

• Tumble and dry sprags according to routing specifications. • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed procedures. • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent; manufacturing experience preferred. • Exhibit strong communication skills and teamwork. • Proficient in blueprint reading and knowledgeable of shop mathematics and tolerances. • Able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and use material‑handling devices. • Capable of sitting or standing for long periods and meeting physical demands such as hand use, reaching, climbing, and various vision requirements. • Comply with ITAR regulations by being a U.S. Person (citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).
