About the Role
The Project Manager will lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and schedule requirements, and serve as the primary point of contact for clients to foster strong relationships and satisfaction. They will develop and execute project plans, define goals, milestones, and deliverables, and manage project teams by providing clear direction to engineers, designers, and support staff. Additional duties include overseeing the preparation of design plans, specifications, reports, and studies, conducting quality‑control reviews, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business development through proposals and client meetings. • Lead projects from conception to completion, meeting scope, budget, and schedule. • Serve as primary client contact, fostering strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction. • Develop and execute project plans with defined goals, milestones, and deliverables. • Manage and direct project teams of engineers, designers, and support staff. • Oversee preparation of design plans, specifications, reports, and studies. • Conduct quality‑control reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Mentor junior staff and provide career development guidance. • Contribute to business development by preparing proposals and attending client meetings.

Freese and Nichols is searching for an ambitious and experienced Project Manager to join our growing transportation team in Tulsa, OK or Oklahoma City, OK. We seek a motivated leader who can manage projects, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of our transportation practice in the Central Plains region. The role goes beyond traditional project management, trusting the individual to make decisions, lead client engagements, and influence project delivery. Over time, there are opportunities to grow as a leader, take on expanded technical and management responsibilities, and help shape the future of transportation work in Oklahoma. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field and possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license. At least 8 years of transportation or civil engineering experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a project‑management role, are required. Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, maintain schedules, and communicate effectively is essential, along with experience using project‑management software; familiarity with Bentley OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and a PE license. • Possess 8+ years of transportation/civil engineering experience, including 2+ years in project management. • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and maintain schedules. • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. • Experience with project‑management software; familiarity with Bentley OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus.
