Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks to collect and transport waste and recyclable containers for residential, commercial, and industrial customers, navigating high‑traffic streets, alleys, driveways, and tight industrial sites. Drivers are expected to uphold WM safety standards, follow OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations, and maintain professional conduct while delivering reliable service to the communities they serve. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear lift attachments to transport waste and recyclable containers. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR). • Safely back‑maneuver and load/unload containers weighing up to 1,000 lb in high‑traffic streets, alleys, driveways, and industrial sites. • Follow WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. • Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, property damage, or service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Communicate customer requests, ensure clean dump sites, and adhere to assigned routes. • Complete end‑of‑day documentation, check‑out procedures, and assist fellow drivers as directed. • Attend required training programs, briefings, and meetings.

What You Bring
Successful candidates must hold a valid CDL Class A or B with an air‑brake endorsement, be at least 18 years old, and be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located. • Hold a valid CDL Class A or B with an air‑brake endorsement (or 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years). • Be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED. • Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
