About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities once loads reach legal capacity. Roles include commercial, residential, and roll‑off drivers, each navigating high‑traffic roads, alleys, driveways and requiring skilled backing maneuvers. Core duties involve operating the vehicle in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT and all regulations, conducting pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions, and communicating customer requests. Drivers follow assigned routes, dump containers, keep sites clean, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist other drivers as needed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste or recyclables to disposal sites. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Follow route assignments, dump receptacles, keep customer sites clean, and complete end‑of‑day paperwork. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and best practices. • Attend required training, briefings, and meetings.

What You Bring

Required qualifications are at least one year of CDL‑class A or B experience (or equivalent military driving) within the past seven years, age 18 or older, legal work eligibility, and an air‑brake endorsement. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The position demands physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with reasonable accommodations provided as needed. • Required: minimum 1 year CDL‑class A or B experience (or equivalent military driving) within last 7 years, age 18+, legal work eligibility, and air‑brake endorsement. • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED. • Physical tasks include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
