About the Role
• Complete tasks within quality, schedule, and budget constraints. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop designs meeting client and regulatory requirements. • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. • Develop concept designs, technical solutions, specifications, and cost estimates. • Follow Mott MacDonald quality procedures in all work. • Mentor team members on geotechnical services and knowledge management. • Lead digital delivery initiatives and foster a high‑performance culture. • Supervise and guide junior engineers, supporting professional development. • Promote right‑first‑time delivery and coordinate with Project Managers/Principals. • Manage workloads with senior discipline staff and resource managers. • Prepare technical reports, design calculations, drawings, and specifications. • Interface with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to meet project standards. • Manage health, safety, and welfare, emphasizing Safety by Design. • Conduct geotechnical analysis and design using software such as PLAXIS, MIDAS GTS, or Rocscience. • Prepare and review technical approval documents for highways, tunnelling, deep excavation, and rail structures. • Perform advanced analyses (finite element, limit equilibrium, soil‑structure interaction) for foundations, retaining systems, and ground improvement. • Produce high‑quality design documentation, including option appraisals, drawings, calculations, and specifications. • Apply international standards such as Eurocodes and AASHTO. • Utilize IT tools (Microsoft Office, SharePoint, ProjectWise, Bentley, Autodesk) and digital delivery methods (BIM, parametric design, automation). • Prepare fee proposals and tender submissions (desirable).

What You Bring
The ideal candidate is a flexible, motivated professional with a genuine passion to make a difference. Required qualifications include a civil engineering degree, a master’s in geotechnical engineering (or related field), and 4 to 8 years of experience in underground structural, tunnelling, or deep‑excavation works. • Demonstrate commercial awareness and ability to plan and monitor project budgets and schedules. • Communicate professionally with all levels of staff and clients, both written and verbally. • Knowledge of sustainable geotechnical design (desirable). • Chartered Engineer status (ICE) or membership in an International Geotechnical Association (desirable). • Expertise in soil strengthening, slope stabilization, settlement analysis, hydrogeology, and dewatering techniques (desirable).
