Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor – Data Center Construction

About the Role
• Lead cost control for multi‑phase data centre construction projects. • Develop and maintain cost plans, budgets, estimates and cash‑flow forecasts. • Monitor actual costs versus forecasts, report variances and maintain benchmarking data. • Review and validate change orders and payment applications for documentation and compliance. • Assist procurement by analysing bids, pre‑qualifying vendors and supporting contractor negotiations. • Prepare and present cost reports, executive dashboards and monthly progress updates. • Track contingencies, commitments and support value‑engineering and design optimisation. • Conduct risk analysis, update commercial risk registers and mitigate cost impacts. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, build stakeholder relationships and attend governance meetings. • Implement and improve cost management tools, templates and ensure regulatory compliance.

What You Bring
The firm is looking for an experienced Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to act as the day‑to‑day client interface on a large‑scale, mission‑critical data‑center programme. The role requires strong governance, commercial rigour and stakeholder engagement to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards. The successful candidate will lead cost‑management activities while embodying Turner & Townsend’s purpose, values and vision. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related field (master’s preferred). • 3–6 years of cost management or project controls experience in construction, preferably data centres or high‑tech projects. • Construction consultancy experience and strong knowledge of cost management processes. • Familiarity with procurement strategies, contract commercial management and value‑engineering. • RICS accreditation or progress toward certification is advantageous. • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications; MEP systems knowledge beneficial. • Proficiency with cost management software, advanced Excel and data analysis for cost modelling. • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder‑management skills in fast‑paced environments.
