About the Role
• Execute construction, maintenance, and repair tasks on both energized and de‑energized transmission lines. • String overhead wire, set poles and anchors, and assist with pole framing, installation, and removal. • Operate hand tools, rigging equipment, and hand lines; tie lineman knots and employ Kellum grips. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools, including DOT inspections and PPE checks. • Follow safety procedures for work‑zone setup, flag/tag protocols, minimum approach distances, and grounding. • Identify and handle various line‑work materials; use chainsaws, bush axes, and related tools safely.

What You Bring
The Groundman Transmission role is an entry‑level position focused on constructing, maintaining, and repairing electrical transmission systems. Employees work safely on both energized and de‑energized lines, performing tasks such as stringing overhead wire, setting poles, and handling rigging equipment. The position requires physical labor, the ability to work at heights or in confined spaces, and compliance with strict safety and PPE protocols. The role involves regular exposure to noise, fumes, moving mechanical parts, and varying weather conditions, and may require overtime, weekend, and holiday work. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting over 50 lb, and performing rigorous labor while adhering to DOT vehicle inspections and PPE requirements. • Work at heights or in confined spaces and perform basic bucket‑rescue or escape techniques. • Travel long distances on short notice, work extended periods in diverse locations, and lift over 50 lb. • Hold or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License as required. • Be available for overtime, weekend, holiday, and inclement‑weather work as needed.
