About the Role
The Senior Accountant is involved in all aspects of accounting and the general ledger, assisting with periodic close processes by reconciling and analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and providing insights for data‑driven decision‑making. The ideal candidate is a proactive strategic thinker comfortable with balance‑sheet reconciliations, internal controls, and compliance, and thrives in dynamic, fast‑paced environments with an eye for process change and operational improvement. This role reports to the Accounting Manager and operates on a hybrid model with a minimum of two in‑office days per week, subject to supervisor discretion. • Analyze and reconcile general ledgers for domestic and international entities. • Prepare and upload journal entries. • Maintain fixed‑asset roll‑forward schedules and account for acquisitions, capitalizations, disposals, and impairments. • Reconcile sub‑ledger balances to the general ledger. • Manage intercompany transactions and balances for proper elimination. • Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes. • Assess internal controls and advise management on risk areas. • Provide variance analysis for the annual budgeting process. • Prepare standalone financial statements for the LAFC Foundation. • Compile MLS‑related reports, including post‑game and annual league financial reporting. • Assist with audit requests and tax filings. • Ensure revenue recognition complies with ASC 606 and maintain accurate deferred‑revenue balances. • Verify accruals for proper cut‑off and recording. • Identify and implement process‑improvement opportunities in accounting operations.

What You Bring
• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics. • Possess at least three years of public or corporate accounting experience. • Demonstrate solid understanding of GAAP, month‑end close, basic tax compliance, internal controls, and variance analysis. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and the Office suite. • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally to build positive relationships. • Self‑starter capable of multitasking in a fast‑paced environment. • Exhibit strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills with focus on process improvement. • Experience with ERP systems; Sage Intacct a plus. • Knowledge of California tax filings a plus. • Comfortable working both independently and within a team with minimal guidance.

Benefits
Base compensation for this role is up to $90,000 per year, with the final offer reflecting a range of factors such as skill set, relevant experience, and training, in accordance with state and local pay disclosure guidelines. LAFC carefully considers these factors to determine a fair and equitable compensation package.
