About the Role

A senior Instrument Maintenance Engineer acts as a reliability engineer, providing technical expertise for criticality assessments and strategy development for all equipment in an oil and gas plant. The role ensures the integrity and reliability of electrical installations, systems, and equipment, while integrating predictive and preventive maintenance technologies into maintenance programs. It provides engineering support for troubleshooting, cost estimating, and implementation of electrical design solutions, and develops optimized preventive maintenance plans for electrical and EX equipment using RCM methodology. Documentation such as line diagrams, P&IDs, data sheets, and SAP work order histories are reviewed and approved, and records are managed in Meridium, SAP, and other control databases. Additional responsibilities include performing criticality assessments for mechanical equipment, reviewing and maintaining instrumentation and process engineering documents, and calibrating and maintaining field instruments. The engineer supports control systems like DCS and PLC‑based emergency shutdown and fire detection systems, prepares comprehensive maintenance plans covering preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, and validates cause‑and‑effect charts and ESD logic. • Ensure integrity and reliability of all electrical installations, systems, and equipment. • Integrate predictive and preventive maintenance technologies into maintenance programs. • Provide engineering support for troubleshooting, cost estimating, and electrical design implementation. • Develop and optimize preventive maintenance plans for electrical and EX equipment using RCM methodology. • Review and approve line diagrams, P&IDs, data sheets, and SAP work order histories. • Manage documentation in Meridium, SAP, and other control databases. • Perform criticality assessments for mechanical and instrumental equipment. • Review and maintain instrumentation and process engineering drawings and data sheets. • Calibrate, commission, and maintain field instruments such as control valves, actuators, transmitters, detectors, and flow meters. • Support control systems including DCS and PLC‑based emergency shutdown and fire detection/alarm systems. • Prepare and schedule preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance plans for instruments. • Validate cause‑and‑effect charts and ESD logic for PLC systems.
