The work supports resilient infrastructure, responsible growth, and lasting impact. • Lead strategic growth to increase HDR’s global market share and revenue in the Industrial sector. • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with key industrial clients. • Drive business development by leading major pursuits, crafting winning strategies, and guiding proposal efforts. • Shape market strategy in collaboration with regional market and operations leadership. • Mentor and train teams to enhance business development skills and client‑focused thinking. • Align talent and expertise with client needs by coordinating with operational partners. • Achieve global booking goals and manage regional business development leaders. • Maintain deep understanding of market trends, drivers, and client challenges. • Create and execute long‑term strategic plans and growth initiatives aligned with company direction. • Develop cross‑market strategic initiatives within the Resources Business Group. • Lead capture planning and win‑strategy development for major pursuits. • Identify and recruit talent for management, technical, business development, and marketing roles. • Design and deliver training on business development and marketing best practices. • Develop and implement comprehensive client plans to capture market share. • Serve as Client Manager for major industrial accounts, ensuring strong relationships and insight into client organizations. • Cultivate business relationships with teaming partners and professional associations to elevate HDR’s brand.

What You Bring

The company is seeking an Industrial Sector Business Development Director who will act as a strategic leader with deep industrial experience, driving innovation and resource management while spearheading client engagement, business development, and growth across a dynamic market. • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and professional/engineering registration or relevant technical experience. • Minimum 15 years of relevant industry experience with a proven record of winning high‑value contracts. • Self‑starter with a history of delivering projects independently and motivating teams. • Strong knowledge of A/E/C procurement processes and ability to build extensive client networks. • Demonstrated sales expertise and ability to develop effective win strategies. • Financial acumen, negotiation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to travel.
