Civil Craft Operator - South Valley

About the Role

The Operator must follow prescribed safety regulations, maintain orderly housekeeping, perform routine maintenance, monitor equipment for malfunctions, and adhere to work plans and pre‑task cards. Additionally, the position requires building relationships with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. • Operate equipment such as blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift/telehandler, crane, bobcat/skid‑steer, aerial lifts, roller, backhoe, and track crane. • Follow safety regulations, maintain housekeeping, and adhere to Mortenson safety policies. • Perform routine maintenance, monitor equipment operation, and identify malfunctions. • Follow work plans and pre‑task cards for each job. • Build relationships with team members from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. • Read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, procedures, and load charts. • Meet physical demands including repetitive movements and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lb (over 50 lb with assistance). • Participate in a 401(k) plan with generous Mortenson match.

What You Bring

Candidates need equipment certifications, at least one year of related experience, a valid driver’s license with appropriate endorsements, and strong teamwork, communication, and customer‑service skills. They must also be able to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, load charts, and possess basic math and equipment‑operation abilities. • Hold required equipment certifications and at least one year of related experience. • Possess a current driver’s license with appropriate classification and endorsements. • Demonstrate strong teamwork, positive attitude, customer service, and detail‑orientation. • Operate equipment controls and possess basic mathematical skills. • Work independently with active listening, effective communication, and openness to feedback. • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
