About the Role

The role is a senior finance manager for Turner’s First Equipment Company profit centers in Huntsville, AL. It reports to the Senior Financial Manager, Operational Finance or VP, Regional Controller and is responsible for managing finance, accounting, and cost departments while ensuring compliance with company policies, GAAP, and risk management. The incumbent will lead a high‑performing finance team, provide coaching, performance feedback, and training, and act as a financial advisor to the profit‑center executive team and general manager. Responsibilities include developing annual profit plans, forecasting, preparing and presenting financial statements, improving systems and processes, overseeing cash management, billing, collections, bonding, insurance, and tax matters, and driving financial risk management initiatives. • Foster a supportive environment that develops high‑performing finance teams through coaching, mentoring, and professional development. • Lead finance staff, deliver timely performance feedback, and participate in performance appraisals. • Design and conduct training on departmental processes. • Provide financial and business decision leadership for core activities and new opportunities. • Advise profit‑center executives and collaborate with the general manager on business strategy execution. • Contribute to EVP strategy and operating meetings. • Assist leadership in developing annual profit plans and forecasting reports. • Prepare, analyze, and present periodic profit‑center financial statements and reports. • Streamline systems, processes, and procedures to support finance and profit‑center operations. • Oversee cash management and profit‑enhancement initiatives. • Secure and maintain bonding and insurance coverage. • Support tax department with local municipal tax issues. • Manage billing issuance, collections, and overdue receivables. • Ensure compliance with external regulations and internal policies. • Drive financial risk management, develop policies, and communicate standards clearly. • Participate in community and industry activities. • Stay current with financial industry trends and updates.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, engineering or a related field, eight or more years of relevant experience, and an advanced business degree or CPA (or a commitment to obtain one if the bachelor’s is not in finance/accounting). Required skills include advanced Excel, SAP, strong analytical and presentation abilities, management experience, and the capacity to work across functional levels.
