About the Role

• Observe construction to ensure work aligns with approved contract documents, plans and specifications. • Perform full‑time observation of construction activities and support the documentation process. • Prepare detailed electronic daily reports that record project activities. • Provide site support for on‑site engineering subcontractors. • Act responsibly and safely, monitoring others for unsafe actions. • Identify contractual changes and document potential project issues. • Prepare construction quantities and pay‑item schedules. • Monitor on‑site activities and represent Mott MacDonald and the client professionally. • Interact courteously and professionally with the public and client representatives.

What You Bring

Mott MacDonald’s hybrid work model emphasizes in‑office collaboration, requiring a minimum of three days per week on site to balance flexibility with face‑to‑face interaction. • Minimum five years of active construction inspection experience. • Understanding of contract documents, plans and specifications; ability to communicate with construction personnel and contractors. • Knowledge of shop drawings, material specifications, mechanical operations, basic electrical and process control; willingness to ask for help when needed. • Familiarity with construction products, materials, equipment, inspection/management practices and safety regulations. • Experience using GPS and data‑collection computers. • NICET Level 3 or higher (preferred). • Experience with South New Jersey municipal construction projects (preferred). • High school diploma and interest or experience in inspecting large, multi‑discipline projects. • Valid driver’s license. • Willingness to travel to regional job sites as required.
