About the Role
• Lead mechanical engineering design on assigned power generation projects. • Coordinate with the mechanical piping design team to produce engineering drawings. • Collaborate across disciplines on equipment arrangements, P&IDs, isometrics, and related documents. • Provide technical expertise for risk assessments, due diligence, and complex solution presentations. • Generate mechanical engineering deliverables from feasibility through detailed design. • Develop construction specifications, equipment specs, and material requisitions. • Support home office during construction, start‑up, and commissioning phases. • Perform quality control reviews of work developed by others. • Participate in project and client meetings and interact with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors. • Prepare internal and external presentations; occasional travel to client or project sites.

What You Bring
The position offers the freedom to work remotely or from any of our Energy offices across the United States. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of mechanical engineering design and technology principles for process/mechanical and generation projects. • BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering with at least 6 years of related experience (or equivalent). • Experience in mechanical engineering for power generation facilities. • Preferred: Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. • Preferred: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license. • 12+ years experience with power generation facilities; 5+ years as technical mechanical lead. • Experience designing combined cycle plants and nuclear generation stations. • Deep knowledge of industry codes and standards (API, ASME, PIP, ANSI, ASTM). • Expertise specifying rotating and static equipment, piping material specifications, and metallurgy. • Startup and commissioning field experience. • Proficiency with engineering software such as Thermoflow, HYSYS, Caesar II, Pipe‑Flo, AspenTech, etc. • Experience with collaborative model environments (Navisworks, BIM 360). • Proven record in complex multi‑discipline projects and remote team collaboration.
