About the Role

The technician will monitor, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical components of CNC machines, as well as associated equipment such as Knoll coolant tanks, MTM washers, lifting devices, and nitrogen supply systems. Responsibilities include documenting malfunctions, managing spare parts, coordinating OEM services, and leading Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities. The role also involves designing, modifying, and fabricating components with manual machining tools, and supporting the installation of new plant equipment. • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of CNC machine mechanical and electrical systems and related equipment. • Service coolant tanks, parts washers, lifting devices, and nitrogen supply systems, including cleaning and refilling as needed. • Document equipment failures, spare‑part usage, and maintain controlled records for data verification. • Manage spare‑part inventory: stock, order, and insource items to ensure availability. • Coordinate training, coaching, and OEM service schedules for less senior technicians and external vendors. • Lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities and drive continuous improvement projects. • Design, modify, and fabricate components using manual machining tools to support plant installations. • Act as the Process Water responsible person for machining operations. • Maintain safety compliance, uphold a clean work environment, and promote a culture of ethical conduct.

Rolls‑Royce is seeking a CNC Machine Maintenance Technician for an off‑shift position (8:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Sunday night through Thursday morning) at its Graniteville, SC facility. The role includes a $5,000 sign‑on bonus and a shift premium added to an hourly rate of $29.69–$44.54, with overtime eligible. Initial training will be provided on the first shift (6 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday‑Thursday), and flexibility to change shifts or be on‑call is required. Candidates must hold an associate degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance (or complete an apprenticeship) and have 5–7 years of machining maintenance experience in a heavy‑duty manufacturing environment. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and be able to work the designated off‑shift schedule, including occasional on‑call duties. Preferred qualifications include advanced knowledge of HELLER CNC machines, Siemens 840 DCNC programming, and a broad range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and lubrication systems. Strong familiarity with OSHA safety requirements, TPM principles, and the ability to solve complex problems are valued, along with intermediate interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
