Job Highlights
About the Role
• Produce first‑principles estimates using Single Line Diagrams and technical information. • Apply technical knowledge of substation and transmission infrastructure and technology. • Lead the estimation process from project inception to completion, ensuring timely and accurate estimates. • Prepare capital cost estimates in line with industry classification guidelines. • Analyse project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop comprehensive cost estimates including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead. • Review bids, proposals, and subcontractor quotes for competitiveness and compliance. • Assess construction project changes and provide feedback on risks and opportunities. • Collaborate with cost, risk, and planning teams and other key project functions. • Evaluate costs and estimates provided by suppliers and contractors. • Provide technical estimating support and produce feasibility studies. • Mentor and support junior estimators and team members.

What You Bring
The Energy & Natural Resources team in Sydney is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to support transmission, distribution, storage, and clean‑energy projects. The role involves developing first‑principles estimates and applying AACE classification methods to assist clients throughout development and delivery phases. • Must be based in Australia with full working rights. • Hold a recognised degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, MRICS/AIQS accreditation, or a related qualification. • Minimum 10 years of relevant estimating experience. • Preferably have transmission or clean‑energy project experience. • Proficient with estimating software and risk quantification tools (Candy preferred). • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in cost estimates, technical reports, and documentation. • Excellent written and spoken English with strong report and bid writing skills. • Highly motivated, driven, and passionate about delivering value to clients.
