About the Role

The Floating Assistant Manager role is a people-first position that provides on-site leadership across multiple vehicle inspection facilities. You will travel within an assigned coverage area, serving as the manager at each station, overseeing staffing, scheduling, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Paid industry-specific training is provided, and no prior automotive background is required. The role reports to the Critical Infrastructure team and supports continuous improvement initiatives. • Serve as on-site manager at assigned stations, leading and developing a frontline team of 5+ technicians. • Travel across facilities during the workday to provide leadership coverage and operational support. • Own daily operations including staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, throughput, quality, and customer satisfaction targets. • Ensure a safe, compliant, and productive work environment by modeling and enforcing safety policies and SOPs. • Handle customer escalations, respond to inquiries, and explain inspection results in plain language. • Oversee accurate documentation, paperwork, and incident/accident reporting per SOPs. • Support hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and conduct fair corrective actions when needed. • Track and communicate key metrics (wait times, throughput, quality, customer feedback) and lead continuous-improvement initiatives.

Success in this role is measured by a strong safety record, compliance with SOPs, and consistently meeting or exceeding throughput, quality, and customer satisfaction goals. You will foster an engaged, well-coached team with clear performance feedback and development plans. Accurate, on-time reporting and documentation are also essential indicators of performance. • High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. • Ability to drive vehicles with a manual transmission and travel between facilities during the workday. • Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience leading teams of five or more. • Completion of Parsons’ industry-specific training requirements. • Associate or bachelor’s degree and aptitude for automotive and instrumentation knowledge. • Security clearance (none required for this position).
