About the Role
Key duties include creating and modifying equipment designs using modular principles, building product configurators and tools to streamline workflows, and identifying risks and opportunities to simplify designs and increase reuse. The role requires close collaboration with customers and cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into modular rules and product structures. The engineer will develop libraries of reusable components, ensure manufacturability, cost‑efficiency and performance, and implement configuration logic and validation rules. Responsibilities also cover generating standard and manufacturing drawings, release Bills of Materials, and module lists that simplify part ordering, while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values. • Design and modify modular electrical equipment and bushing components. • Build standardized design modules, product configurators, and tools to streamline quotation and design workflows. • Identify risks and opportunities to simplify designs, increase reuse, and automate processes. • Collaborate with customers and cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into modular rules and product structures. • Develop libraries of reusable components ensuring manufacturability, cost‑efficiency, and performance. • Create and validate standard designs, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for global factories. • Produce release Bills of Materials and module lists to simplify part ordering. • Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations and uphold Hitachi Energy safety and integrity values.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field and possess 9–12 years of design engineering experience, preferably in modular design and product standardization. Required skills include proficiency with CAD tools such as Creo, knowledge of Lean Engineering or Design for Configuration, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and fluency in spoken and written English.
