About the Role

The crane operator is responsible for safely operating cranes to support construction activities, conducting preventative maintenance, and performing a pre‑shift walk‑around of assigned equipment to ensure safe operation. • Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members. • Produce high‑quality work safely and productively. • Provide feedback to ensure availability of materials, tools, equipment, and information. • Share knowledge and teach teammates continuously. • Inspect subordinate work for accuracy, compliance with plans and specifications, and correct deficiencies. • Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transport, material storage, and idle time. • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, safety, and quality standards; use trade tools and equipment effectively. • Work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions. • Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds. • Lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb occasionally. • Frequently use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects. • Consistently comply with all safety standards and procedures. • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or bend. • Navigate confined, cluttered, and uneven work areas.

What You Bring

It also requires proficiency in equipment maintenance, inspecting subordinate work for compliance, and eliminating waste such as waiting, rework, and unnecessary transport. Candidates must have three to six years of experience in industrial/commercial construction, be able to read drawings and specifications, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and hold a current NCCCO or NCCER crane operator certification with the appropriate endorsements. The job description may be adjusted over time and may include additional duties. The position demands physical stamina, including up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures, climbing ladders and scaffolds, occasional lifting or moving of objects up to 50 lb, frequent hand use, and the ability to work in confined, cluttered or uneven areas while consistently following safety standards and wearing required personal protective equipment. • Perform high‑proficiency preventative maintenance on all related equipment. • Minimum three years (Level I) to six+ years (Level III) experience in industrial/commercial construction with heavy equipment expertise. • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. • Hold current NCCCO or NCCER crane operator certification with appropriate endorsements. • Frequently reach above shoulder height and below waist level. • Wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
