About the Role
The incumbent will manage all programs associated with the Hazardous Waste Program on an onsite work model, ensuring proper collection, documentation, and disposal of hazardous materials. • Ensure satellite/initial accumulation points are established, collect waste, and maintain accurate inventory documentation. • Submit waste accumulation documents and log entries into the AF Hazardous Material and HW tracking system. • Provide staff training on RCRA, HAZWOPER, and DOT manifesting to develop processing documents and ship hazardous waste. • Coordinate waste manifests with AF designated representatives before transport off‑base. • Review and maintain reports, logs, and manifests from waste‑generating activities. • Manage disposal of hazardous, universal, and special/state regulated wastes on base. • Maintain compliance with HW program requirements (e.g., 8700‑12, 8700‑13), permits, fees, corrective actions, and liaison with government agencies. • Collect waste from satellite sites within RCRA timelines and deliver to 90/180‑day accumulation areas. • Oversee toxics program requirements for MAX‑GUN AFB, including permits, fees, studies, corrective actions, and annual PCB log filing. • Supervise storage program compliance, including permits, fees, annual reports, and interaction with agencies (CDRL 1011). • Review and update the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plan. • Conduct internal environmental self‑inspections and participate in Unit Effectiveness Inspections. • Implement corrective and preventive actions for inspection deficiencies and track closure in MICT. • Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. • Complete all mandated training per government and management directives. • Perform duties timely and cost‑effectively. • Adhere to company policies, SOPs, and safety culture. • Respond to after‑hours emergencies while present on base.

What You Bring
The position requires indoor and outdoor work under temperature extremes and inclement weather, with exposure to hazards such as chemicals, noise, and confined spaces. Physical duties include standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lb, and using standard office and field equipment. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science. • Minimum four years of environmental experience with federal regulations (RCRA, CWA, CAA, FIFRA). • Current RCRA‑DOT Hazmat and Waste Ground Shipper certification. • Desired OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification and forklift operation experience. • Ability to interact professionally with diverse personnel. • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance and DBIDS access. • Ability to pass background checks, drug testing, and hold a valid driver’s license. • U.S. citizenship required. • Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
