About the Role

• Review mechanical specifications, tenders and project requirements to develop robust, value‑engineered solutions. • Produce high‑quality CAD models, drawings, design documentation, calculations and technical reports. • Design components such as GRP water‑treatment kiosks, storage tanks, pump cabinets, pipework systems and structural frameworks. • Apply Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DfMA) and value‑engineering principles while maintaining standards. • Procure materials, obtain quotes for bespoke components and generate accurate Bills of Materials. • Research design solutions, estimate costs and schedules, and ensure projects stay on time and within budget. • Collaborate with customers, contractors, project managers and the wider design team, communicating issues promptly. • Attend site meetings as required and represent the company's culture and values. • Conduct product testing, evaluate results and analyse test data where applicable. • Participate in Cycle to Work schemes.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate will be passionate, proactive and technically skilled, holding at least an HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline and possessing solid experience in mechanical design within the water sector. • Demonstrate solid experience using Autodesk Inventor/Inventor Professional. • Possess proven experience in a mechanical design environment. • Have knowledge of the water industry. • Understand electrical wiring regulations and the Machinery Directive. • Hold at least an HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline. • Be familiar with Change Management, Kaizen or Organisational Excellence principles.
