About the Role
Riggers will be responsible for the lifting and movement of heavy equipment and materials. They will inspect all applicable rigging, plan lifts using load weight, equipment capacity, and other information needed to safely move heavy loads. They attach loads using slings, chains, cables, hooks, shackles, and related equipment, and signal the operator during lifts with instructions. This position does not have direct reports but works closely with and may oversee helpers and laborers, holding positional and expertise authority over those roles. • Act as safety observer, inspect rigging equipment, and plan or assist in lift planning. • Attach, guide, signal, and detach loads using slings, chains, hooks, cables, shackles, and rope. • Climb structures to position loads and install/remove outrigger pads on cranes.

What You Bring
• Minimum 4 years experience as a Journeyman Rigger. • Must pass NCCO/NCCER rigging assessment and hold NCCER certification (or obtain within 30 days). • Ability to work at heights exceeding 300 ft and lift up to 50 lb. • Possess required rigging tools, reliable transportation, and necessary hand signals. • Knowledge of rigging equipment capacities, construction processes, lift planning, and arithmetic. • Strong teamwork, communication, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills. • Preferred: current or former Zachry employee or experience as an industrial ironworker. • Physical demands include extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders/platforms, and use of PPE. • Required tools: adjustable wrenches, spud wrenches, levels, tape measures, channel locks, bull pins, wedges, gloves, hammer, etc. • Certifications required: NCCCO Rigger Level I & II, NCCER Industrial Rigging. • Must pass background check, drug screen, and pre‑employment physical; safety orientation required.
