About the Role
The Energy unit provides integrated engineering and project management services for hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission and distribution networks worldwide. It supports clients throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and design to construction, operation, de‑commissioning and repowering, contributing to the global energy transition. The successful candidate will develop cost‑effective and innovative civil and structural solutions using tools such as Revit, Tekla, Robot, AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and will deliver projects at various maturity stages, including design reviews, feasibility studies, FEED and detailed design. Responsibilities also include producing 3D models, design reports, drawings and pipe‑support details, supporting plant layout development, coordinating with equipment vendors, contributing to proposals and bids, and providing technical leadership while promoting health, safety and wellbeing. • Develop cost‑effective civil and structural solutions using Revit, Tekla, Robot, AutoCAD and Civil 3D. • Deliver projects through design review, feasibility studies, FEED and detailed design, including site work during construction and commissioning. • Produce structural 3D models, design reports, general arrangement drawings, pipe‑support designs, foundation envelopes and reinforced concrete detailing. • Support plant layout development and 3D plant modelling. • Collaborate with equipment vendors on package designs and evaluate technical proposals. • Contribute to proposals, bids and multidisciplinary submissions for civil and structural projects. • Provide technical leadership and governance while promoting health, safety and wellbeing.

What You Bring
Essential requirements are a degree in a relevant engineering discipline, Chartered Engineer status (or progression towards it) and membership of a professional institute, together with significant post‑graduate experience in civil and structural delivery for power and energy projects. Candidates must be proficient with structural software (Robot Professional, STAAD Pro) and CAD tools (Advanced Steel, Revit, AutoCAD), possess strong communication skills, and have detailed knowledge of national and international codes and standards. Experience as an Owner’s Engineer or in a technical advisory capacity is desirable but not mandatory. Mott MacDonald does not currently sponsor Skilled Worker visas due to recent UK government changes; applicants must be eligible for alternative immigration routes that do not require sponsorship. • Hold a degree in engineering and be a Chartered Engineer (or progressing) with relevant institute membership. • Possess significant post‑graduate experience delivering civil and structural designs for power and energy projects. • Proficient in structural software (Robot Professional, STAAD Pro) and CAD tools (Advanced Steel, Revit, AutoCAD). • Demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple fast‑paced projects. • Know national and international codes and standards applicable to the power and energy sector. • Preferably experienced in Owner’s Engineer or technical advisory roles.
