About the Role
The Quantity Surveyor/Estimating Engineer (Pre‑contract) role in Abu Dhabi involves performing standard estimating activities on assigned projects or programs, applying company policies and procedures, and collaborating with small estimate teams to deliver comprehensive cost estimates that meet client expectations. • Review design information and drawings during pre‑contract/design stage. • Prepare material takeoffs/BOQ from engineering drawings and specifications. • Verify takeoffs prepared by others for completeness and accuracy. • Develop detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to define project scope. • Create and summarize bases of estimate (BOE), including scope, pricing, rates, assumptions, escalation, and quality‑control review. • Deliver comprehensive cost estimates that incorporate contract terms, general conditions, and job costs. • Use parametric historical data and bottoms‑up methodology to estimate probable contract costs. • Prepare scope sheets and request for bids or quotations from service providers. • Assist estimating leads with historical data management and cost database documentation. • Review contract documents to assess risk and assign maximum cost and schedule exposure. • Collaborate with estimate teams to produce final deliverables meeting customer requirements.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field. • Minimum 15 years of estimating experience in engineering and construction. • At least 5 years of pre‑contract experience with a reputable UAE designer/consultant. • Proficiency with estimating software and databases. • Good written and verbal communication skills; familiar with company and project procedures. • Knowledge of project controls software (e.g., Primavera, Estimate/Schedule Transfer tools, Contract Manager, DMCS) preferred. • Strong understanding of construction contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
