The role requires deep expertise in macOS application packaging. Candidates must be proficient with tools such as Jamf Composer, Packages (WhiteBox), Munki, AutoPkg, and Apple’s command‑line utilities (pkgbuild, productbuild). A strong understanding of the macOS file‑system hierarchy, System Integrity Protection, Gatekeeper, security frameworks, and code signing is essential. Scripting abilities in Bash/Zsh, Python, AppleScript, and optionally Swift are needed to create pre‑ and post‑install scripts and automate workflows. Windows packaging expertise is also critical. Applicants should have experience creating and customizing MSI and App‑V packages using tools like Admin Studio, InstallShield, Wise Package Studio, or Flexera. Familiarity with PowerShell, VBScript, and Batch scripting for automation, as well as knowledge of Windows OS architecture, registry, and user profiles, is required. Exposure to deployment platforms such as SCCM or Intune is expected. The position demands strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, including the ability to debug installation failures, resolve permission issues, and manage dependencies. Candidates should be comfortable working with virtual environments (e.g., VMware Fusion, Parallels) and using version control systems such as Git.
