About the Role
The technician will perform preventative maintenance, start‑ups, and repairs on generators, including automatic transfer switches, diesel, and gaseous engines. The position emphasizes safe and efficient operation and requires frequent travel, up to 60‑80% on short notice, both domestically and internationally. Key duties include servicing, troubleshooting, and overhauling engine and genset systems, leading on‑site projects, preparing work estimates, commissioning equipment, and maintaining detailed logs and records. The technician will also inspect parts, generate reports to prevent future failures, and collaborate with product groups on design updates. • Service, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul engines, genset systems, and their electronic/mechanical components. • Lead on‑site work, manage project timelines, and prioritize job tasks. • Prepare work estimates and commission/operate generators and related equipment. • Instrument genset systems, record test data, and inspect parts for specification compliance. • Perform field inspections of failed components, write incident reports, and maintain detailed logs. • Request parts and tools, source local vendors, and support product design development. • Provide input for updates to service manuals and bulletins. • Instruct customers on safe engine operation, shutdown procedures, and troubleshooting techniques. • Offer technical assistance to fellow service personnel and maintain a clean, safe work area. • Analyze technical data and promote compliance with the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
