About the Role

The carpenter will set up site infrastructure, interpret building plans, fabricate and install structural and finish components, assist journeymen with grading and elevations, and manage prefabricated materials, while maintaining safety and quality standards. • Set up trailers • Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans to determine material requirements and measure dimensions • Build decks, stairs, roofs, and other temporary structures; install shelves, tool trailers/conex’s, silt fences/straw bales, and set up erosion control measures • Assist journeyman and foreman with shooting grades and elevations • Unload, handle, stockpile, and erect prefabricated materials • Perform concrete and rough carpentry, including hand‑set walls, footings, gang wall forms, structural concrete decks, drywall, finish carpentry, doors, frames, hardware, millwork, and cabinetry • Build relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels; perform all other duties as assigned • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 50 lb (heavier loads with assistance)

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Carpenter I to construct and repair wood and wallboard fixtures in accordance with local building codes and construction principles. Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, have at least two years of carpentry experience, and preferably possess trade or technical certification. They should demonstrate precision, strong teamwork, effective communication, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks. • Hand‑set forms and assemble gang forms • High school diploma or GED • Minimum two years carpentry experience • Trade or technical school certification/diploma preferred • Ability to work with precision, visualize solid objects from drawings, and communicate in English • Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, and effective communication • Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements
