About the Role
Interns will define a focused research project with their mentor, develop algorithms, run simulation experiments, and document results with the potential for publication. Responsibilities include developing physics‑informed AI methods, conducting literature reviews, identifying research questions, collaborating with SOS and media‑entertainment researchers, and presenting findings both internally and externally. • Develop physics‑informed AI algorithms for character motion generation, data augmentation, or stylized motion control. • Conduct literature reviews and define research questions to guide iterative experimentation. • Collaborate with SOS and media & entertainment researchers; document and present findings internally and externally. • Contribute to research publications and prototype software.

What You Bring
Candidates must be currently pursuing a PhD or master’s in computer science, robotics, engineering, or a related discipline, with experience in nonlinear dynamics and control (model‑based or learning‑based) and proficiency in Python for simulation, optimization, or machine learning. Demonstrated research expertise through peer‑reviewed publications and the ability to translate ideas into software prototypes are required. Preferred experience includes computer graphics techniques (IK, motion matching), locomotion planning, model‑predictive control, reinforcement or imitation learning, system identification, biomechanics tools such as OpenSim, and familiarity with simulators like Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or Pinocchio. • Pursuing a PhD or master’s in CS, robotics, engineering, or related field with experience in nonlinear dynamics and control. • Proficient in Python for simulation, optimization, or machine learning; strong software prototyping skills. • Preferred: experience with computer graphics (IK, motion matching), locomotion planning, model‑predictive control, reinforcement or imitation learning, system identification, biomechanics tools (OpenSim), and simulators such as Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or Pinocchio.
