About the Role
As the design authority for an engineering discipline of low to medium complexity, you will manage small projects or portions of larger projects, delivering cost‑effective solutions that meet contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Responsibilities include preparing protection principle single‑line diagrams, schematics, substation layouts, bill of materials, RFQs, vendor offer vetting, engineering hour estimates, site visits, and technical risk assessments. You will review tender documents and technical specifications, develop Design Intent Documents, and create protection SLDs, panel general arrangements, trip matrices, I/O signal lists, IED configuration files, interlocking tables, and busbar schematics. Additional duties involve reviewing vendor drawings, producing wiring/termination tables, cable schedules, and ensuring interface knowledge with primary equipment, SCADA, RTU, and tele‑protection systems. • Lead design authority for low‑to‑medium complexity engineering projects. • Prepare protection SLDs, schematics, substation layouts, and Bill of Materials. • Review tender documents, develop Design Intent Documents, and generate panel arrangements and interlocking tables. • Create IED configuration files, trip matrices, I/O signal lists, and busbar schematics. • Vet vendor drawings, produce wiring/termination tables, cable schedules, and BoQ. • Perform relay setting calculations, CT/VT adequacy checks, and technical risk assessments. • Obtain customer approvals and act as interface engineer during erection and commissioning. • Ensure compliance with internal/external regulations, safety, and integrity standards.

What You Bring
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or diploma) and 8‑10 years of experience with substation protection and control design. Candidates must be familiar with IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards, have deep knowledge of relay settings, CT/VT adequacy checks, and preferably generator protection. Strong teamwork, independent problem‑solving, high ownership, and proficiency in spoken and written English are essential. • Require B.E. or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with 8‑10 years of substation protection design experience. • Proficient with IEC, IEEE, ANSI standards; generator protection knowledge is a plus. • Demonstrate strong teamwork, independent problem‑solving, high ownership, and excellent English communication.
