About the Role
The role ensures strong market positioning, effective account leadership and high‑performing seller/doer teams, while supporting the Western US business strategy through senior‑level client relationships that convert opportunities into long‑term partnerships. • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to guide strategy. • Identify and engage key and emerging clients in rail, transit, urban mobility, transportation, water, and tunnel infrastructure. • Build and maintain senior-level client relationships to generate a healthy revenue pipeline. • Increase firm visibility through networking, conferences, and media engagement. • Develop strategic client engagement and ambition plans for priority accounts. • Lead proposal and interview preparation, delivering tailored responses aligned with client goals. • Build local capabilities to convert pursuits into won work. • Manage accounts and opportunities using CRM for accurate pipeline and resource planning. • Meet sales targets and KPIs for the region. • Support Western US Development Manager in creating and executing strategic plans and business objectives. • Coordinate with Divisional GM on business plans and sector strategies. • Contribute to budgeting for business development and proposal activities. • Coach and develop seller/doer and account leader teams to achieve high performance. • Serve as Principal Account Leader or Account Leader as needed. • Foster cross‑unit collaboration while embodying Mott MacDonald’s brand, values, and vision. • Identify operational gaps and implement continuous improvement solutions.

What You Bring
• Minimum 15 years of A/E/C experience with proven client development and infrastructure wins. • Experience working with public sector agencies, private organizations, municipalities, and state agencies. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, science, or a related field. • Deep understanding of market dynamics in transportation, water, and infrastructure sectors. • Track record of building trusted client relationships that drive revenue growth. • Strong skills in strategic planning, teaming, proposal strategy, and negotiations. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities. • Proficient with CRM tools and data‑driven business development. • Collaborative leader who motivates teams and drives long‑term vision. • Hybrid work model requiring a minimum of three days in‑office to promote collaboration.
