About the Role
The role involves assembling rigging to lift and move equipment or material for construction projects. • Load, transport, unload and assist in selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to load weight and size. • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures using bolts and clamps. • Secure loads with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hooks. • Direct crane operators or hoisting engineers using hand signals, loudspeaker, radio, or telephone to ensure safety. • Set up braces and rig hoisting equipment with hand tools and power wrenches. • Tie various knots as required. • Assemble and disassemble cranes. • Splice rope and wire cables to create or repair slings or tackle. • Direct workers in hoisting machinery onto or off ships, railroads, cars, or trucks. • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. • Observe all safety rules and perform other duties as required. • Coordinate hand and foot movements based on visual signals, maintaining accuracy standards. • Rate information using measurable standards. • Interpret flat drawings or diagrams to visualize solid objects. • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. • Plan work and select appropriate tools. • Compare and identify differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.

What You Bring
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, relevant experience, and a solid understanding of industry concepts and procedures. The position operates under immediate supervision with guidance from established guidelines, and independent judgment is rarely required. Physical demands include standing (70% of the time) and walking (30%), lifting up to 50 lb, carrying 40 lb, pushing and pulling with moderate force, as well as frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering activities.
