Intern - Product Cost Work

About the Role

You will create clean analytical tables from supplier quotations, ERP/SAP data and internal databases, develop machine‑learning and advanced statistical models for cost estimation, and build bottom‑up parametric models that feed into AI layers. The role involves handling both structured and unstructured data, applying manufacturing knowledge to fill gaps, exploring neural‑network cost estimation using CAD geometry or 2D drawings, and supporting analysis of designs, materials and processes to suggest alternatives. • Build analytical tables from supplier quotations, ERP/SAP data, and internal databases. • Develop ML and advanced statistical models (regression, feature engineering, time‑series) for component cost estimation. • Create bottom‑up parametric models and overlay AI models using base calculations. • Handle structured and unstructured data, applying manufacturing knowledge to address missing information. • Explore neural‑network cost estimation using CAD geometry or 2D drawings. • Analyze designs, materials, and manufacturing processes to propose alternatives.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate is pursuing a PhD in Data Science or engineering with an ML/AI focus, or holds a master’s in mechanical, production or industrial engineering, and possesses strong SQL, Python and ETL skills. Experience with scikit‑learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, hyperparameter tuning, knowledge of neural networks, CAD tools, manufacturing processes and internal combustion engines, as well as excellent English communication, are required. • Pursuing PhD in Data Science/Engineering (ML/AI focus) or master’s in mechanical/production/industrial engineering. • Proficient in SQL, Python, and ETL principles. • Experience with scikit‑learn, XGBoost, LightGBM and hyperparameter tuning. • Knowledge of neural networks, CAD tools, manufacturing processes, and internal combustion engines. • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
