Job Highlights
About the Role
• Conduct feasibility studies, advise on procurement strategies, and prepare procurement reports. • Apply value management techniques early in projects. • Manage estimating and cost planning, own and present final cost plans. • Lead procurement stages including pre‑qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation. • Supervise preparation of contract documents, warranties, bonds and licenses and facilitate execution. • Advise on administration of building contract terms. • Measure work valuations, manage cost checking and valuation processes. • Provide cost control and monthly post‑contract cost reporting to clients. • Identify costs linked to design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges. • Evaluate contractor and subcontractor claims for delay and additional costs. • Issue certificates of making good defects and final completion, ensuring compliance with approvals. • Issue practical completion certificates and negotiate final accounts. • Manage a team of Cost Consultants, offering guidance, coaching and performance management. • Drive improvements in systems and processes, leading transformational change. • Mentor and train team members, sharing technical expertise. • Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships. • Influence senior stakeholders and implement continuous improvement plans. • Contribute to net‑zero carbon transition by managing carbon emissions and reductions during delivery.

What You Bring
Within our consulting business we combine leading‑edge practical expertise with project delivery consultancy to unlock potential in every project. • Deep understanding of sustainability, social value and carbon reduction issues. • Expert knowledge of industry best practice and value engineering. • Strong background in life‑cycle costing and contract law. • Degree in quantity surveying or cost management (or equivalent) and MRICS/RICS membership. • Detailed knowledge of major construction contract forms and contractual frameworks. • Proven experience in contract administration and management. • Sector‑specific expertise and relevant technical qualifications or certifications.
