About the Role

The Field Performance Technician is responsible for managing, scheduling, and completing all service and warranty work. The role requires both independent work and collaboration within the Performance O&M team, and involves frequent interaction with customers, the Branch Manager, the Senior Electrical Foreman, the Construction Supervisor, and the centralized scheduling Field Service Team. Key duties include organizing and leading the warranty and service schedule, allocating labor resources with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor, and Branch Manager, and supporting training and development for Field Service and Communications Technicians. The technician also leads regular best‑practice meetings, assists with onboarding new team members, consistently exceeds performance KPIs such as turnaround time and dispatches completed, and may perform inspections and site audits when assigned. • Manage and schedule all service and warranty work. • Allocate labor resources with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor, and Branch Manager. • Train and develop Field Service Technicians and Communications Technicians. • Lead regular meetings to share best practices with the local field service team. • Onboard and mentor new field performance team members. • Meet or exceed KPIs such as turnaround time, experience rating, and dispatches completed. • Perform inspections and site audits as assigned. • Provide excellent customer service with strong verbal and written communication. • Follow safety policies, identify hazards, and encourage safe work practices. • Solve problems quickly, exercise sound judgment, and escalate issues when needed.

Candidates must have 1–3 years of field construction or solar experience, with PV design or electrical experience preferred, and a high‑school diploma is required. A clean driving record, a valid driver’s license, and being at least 21 years old are mandatory; an electrical journeyman certification or license is preferred and may be required depending on state regulations. The role demands strong knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes, the ability to interpret single‑line drawings and PV systems, and solid electrical principles related to solar interconnection. Successful applicants are motivated team players with excellent customer service, verbal and written communication, organizational, time‑management, and computer skills, and they consistently follow safety policies while encouraging safe practices among peers. Physical requirements include regularly transporting materials up to 50 lb (100 lb with assistance), working on rooftops and ladders, and performing tasks that involve bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, and balance. The technician must operate safely in various outdoor conditions, use personal protective equipment, and be capable of working in confined spaces, distinguishing colors, and hearing verbal commands. • Hold 1–3 years of field construction or solar experience; high school diploma required. • Maintain a clean driving record, be at least 21 years old, and possess a valid driver’s license; electrical journeyman certification preferred. • Demonstrate knowledge of NEC, PV system design, and ability to read single‑line drawings. • Exhibit strong organizational, time‑management, and computer skills. • Physically lift up to 50 lb regularly (100 lb with assistance) and work on rooftops, ladders, and in various weather conditions.
