About the Role

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications. • Participate in engineering design and analysis as coursework permits. • Perform small tasks in AutoCAD and/or Revit. • Use finite element analysis software (RAM, ETABS, SAP2000), hand calculations, and current codes under a Professional Engineer’s supervision. • Visit construction sites to learn how structures are built and inspected. • Review shop drawings for conformance to structural design drawings and specifications.

What You Bring

As a structural intern you will work with licensed structural engineers, engineers in training, and BIM designers on diverse project types, gaining hands‑on experience that connects coursework to real‑world applications and inspires a career in structural engineering. The position is subject to a governmental background check, and you will receive real‑world experience on exciting projects while contributing to a collaborative, employee‑owned culture. • Enrolled in an ABET‑accredited undergraduate or graduate program majoring in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis. • Completed approximately three years toward the degree with a 3.0+ GPA. • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant software packages. • Ability to work in‑person at the Folsom or Walnut Creek office. • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program. • Strong attention to detail. • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills. • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
