About the Role

• Interpret project plans, specifications, and details for subcontractors and craft persons. • Implement pre‑construction quality plan and manage testing and inspection processes. • Obtain and maintain construction permits; manage fee payments and recurring expenses. • Develop and maintain material tracking, test/inspection listings, concrete placement log, and non‑conformance reports. • Create, distribute, and manage contract documents and electronic handling procedures (RFIs, correspondence). • Set up submittal registers, obtain approvals, prepare transmittals, coordinate packaging, review, and process submittals. • Expedite submittals to align with schedule and communicate process details to subcontractors and suppliers. • Define and implement closeout procedures, including posting revisions to as‑built documents. • Mentor, manage, and evaluate field engineers; determine alternative work methods as needed. • Coordinate safety and compliance, maintain schedules, and ensure timely completion.

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Project Engineer II who can interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility, resourcefulness, professionalism, and confidentiality. The engineer will review, analyze, manage, and resolve field coordination issues with project team members and participants. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Postings typically remain open for a minimum of five days. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience. • Minimum of three years related construction experience. • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and standard business practices. • Excellent teamwork, initiative, communication, and problem‑solving skills. • Professional attitude with strong customer service focus. • Valid driver’s license.

Benefits

The position offers a base salary range of $93,400 to $126,100, with higher ranges for certain locations, and includes eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
