About the Role

The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in overseeing daily operations and financial functions of an affordable‑housing community. Responsibilities include rent collection, cash‑flow optimization, supervision of staff, leasing, maintenance, administration, and risk management, especially when the Community Manager is absent. • Post and reconcile resident payments, manage accounts receivable, and handle bad‑debt collections. • Conduct end‑of‑month closings, post move‑out charges, and maintain accurate resident records. • Screen, hire, train, coach, and supervise on‑site staff, ensuring compliance with company policies. • Implement effective leasing strategies, market vacant units, and ensure timely lease documentation. • Develop resident retention programs and address resident complaints to maintain satisfaction. • Oversee maintenance requests, conduct property inspections, and ensure timely repairs. • Manage vendor relationships, obtain bids, and control property expenses. • Ensure adherence to Fair Housing and OSHA compliance requirements.

What You Bring

• Minimum one year experience with affordable housing programs such as LIHTC, HUD Section 8, USDA Rural Development, etc. • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree or relevant housing experience preferred. • Proficient with on‑site software and basic computer skills. • Physical ability to lift up to 25 lb, climb ladders, work in various environments, and respond to emergencies.

Benefits
