About the Role

You will conduct research on electricity markets and power‑system reliability, develop mathematical models, design and test simulation software, maintain in‑house tools, and collaborate with internal and external partners to advance market optimization and grid reliability. • Conduct research in electricity markets, power system reliability, and optimization techniques • Develop mathematical models for new or existing electricity markets and power‑system‑related areas • Design, develop, and test software for power‑system simulation, grid reliability assessment, and market clearing • Maintain and provide technical support for in‑house software • Collaborate with ISO‑NE departments and external organizations on markets, optimization, and software development

What You Bring

We require a PhD or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science, along with experience in electricity‑market software development, relational databases, optimization solvers, and programming languages such as Java or Python, plus a strong interest in emerging market technologies. • PhD or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science • Experience developing software for wholesale electricity markets, including relational databases and optimization techniques • Knowledge of electricity market operation and power‑system analysis • Proficiency in programming/modeling languages such as Java, Python, GAMS, AIMMS • Experience with commercial solvers like CPLEX and Gurobi
