About the Role
As the Risk Manager you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of the SMR Project by identifying, assessing, and helping manage project risks. The role demands a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex risk concepts effectively. You will be accountable for risk‑management outcomes and will develop and implement mitigation strategies to protect project delivery. The position may include SOX control responsibilities and requires adherence to GBN policies and nuclear industry regulations. The role is within the Energy and Natural Resources department. • Identify and document key assumptions for project planning and execution, assessing their validity and impact. • Proactively identify and evaluate financial, operational, and regulatory risks across programmes and initiatives, collaborating with cross‑functional teams. • Conduct qualitative risk assessments of likelihood and impact to prioritize decision making. • Perform quantitative cost and schedule risk analysis to gauge cumulative exposure at project or programme level. • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring appropriate controls and actions with stakeholders. • Monitor and review risk and assumption status, providing updates to senior management and preparing detailed risk reports. • Integrate risk management with scope, schedule, cost, and benefits management functions. • Support integrated reporting of risk information with clear, professional communication. • Address complex risk challenges through innovative solutions and facilitate workshops to develop effective strategies. • Ensure risk processes comply with GBN policies and nuclear industry regulations, taking ownership of risk deliverables. • Lead initiatives to enhance risk management frameworks and stay current on industry best practices and regulatory changes.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience. • Membership in the Institute of Risk Management, Associate of Project Management, or equivalent professional body. • Extensive knowledge of risk management principles and best practices, particularly within the nuclear sector. • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to evaluate complex data and provide evidence‑based recommendations. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse technical and non‑technical audiences. • Proven experience working in cross‑functional teams to identify and mitigate risks collaboratively. • High accuracy in risk assessment and reporting, demonstrating accountability and thoroughness. • Proficiency in cost and schedule risk analysis using tools such as @risk and Safran. • Skilled in risk management software and data evaluation for comprehensive reporting.
