Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician

About the Role

The Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Technician leads service technicians in installing and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment. This role supports the Operations Maintenance Team by designing solutions for complex problems, managing projects, and training both service and contract technicians. Key responsibilities include promoting safety, maintaining and troubleshooting conveyor systems and associated control components, managing work orders with detailed labor and parts data, leading and auditing preventative‑maintenance programs, and mentoring junior technicians while maintaining positive relationships throughout the Operations facility. • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures. • Maintain and troubleshoot conveyor systems and related control components such as relay logic, ladder diagrams, motor starters, sensors, and solenoids. • Create, assign, and close work orders with detailed labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts usage data. • Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures while mentoring junior technicians. • Maintain positive working relationships across the Operations facility.

What You Bring

Basic qualifications require a high school diploma or equivalent, at least four years of experience with material handling equipment, preventative maintenance, blueprint and schematic reading, three years using a CMMS, and two years programming PLCs. Experience in a team‑lead capacity, vendor management, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and Project is also required, along with the ability to work flexible schedules. Preferred qualifications include an associate’s or higher degree in a mechanical or electrical field and experience with robotic operation and maintenance. The role demands physical abilities such as reaching overhead, kneeling, lifting up to 50 lb, using aerial lifts, wearing required PPE, and working in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures and daily travel of 6–12 miles. • 4+ years experience with material handling equipment, preventative maintenance, and reading blueprints/schematics. • 3+ years experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). • 2+ years experience programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). • Experience in a team‑lead capacity, including training and mentoring less experienced technicians. • Vendor management experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. • Associate’s or higher degree in mechanical or electrical fields (preferred). • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance (preferred). • Physical ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb ladders, use aerial lifts, and lift up to 50 lb. • Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, face shield, composite toe shoes, etc.). • Capacity to work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures and travel 6‑12 miles daily.
