About the Role
The TBM Mechanical Superintendent reports to the General Superintendent and is responsible for overseeing mechanical repair, maintenance, and assembly of the tunnel boring machine (TBM) and associated construction equipment. This role supervises craft mechanics, leads troubleshooting efforts, and ensures equipment remains in optimal condition. Key duties include managing the preventive maintenance program, maintaining spare‑parts inventory, coordinating vendor parts and technical support, and enforcing all safety, quality, and environmental standards on site. The superintendent also plans personnel assignments, monitors attendance and productivity, controls operational costs, and participates in weekly progress and schedule meetings with project stakeholders. • Oversee mechanical repair, maintenance, and assembly of TBM and related equipment. • Supervise craft mechanics and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. • Lead preventive maintenance program and manage spare‑parts inventory, including consignment parts. • Coordinate vendor selection, parts procurement, and technical support for TBM operations. • Plan and schedule personnel assignments to meet project milestones and monitor productivity. • Enforce FK/TP safety programs and monitor attendance and timekeeping. • Control operational costs and ensure adherence to budgetary goals. • Participate in weekly progress and schedule coordination meetings with stakeholders. • Provide coaching, professional development, and resolve personnel issues.

What You Bring
Applicants must have a high‑school diploma or equivalent, with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred, and at least five years of mechanical experience in tunneling or heavy civil construction, including two years in a supervisory role. Required expertise includes hands‑on work with hard‑rock Main Beam, EPB, or Single Shield TBMs, knowledge of hydraulic and PLC systems, and the ability to read and apply construction plans and specifications. • Require high school diploma; Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering preferred. • Minimum 5 years mechanical experience in tunneling or heavy civil construction; 2 years supervisory experience. • Hands‑on experience with hard‑rock, EPB, or single‑shield TBMs and hydraulic/PLC systems. • Ability to read and apply construction plans, technical drawings, and specifications. • Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills. • Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and extended hours.

The position offers a salary range of $199,000 to $261,000, depending on experience.
