About the Role
Under the guidance of a Lead Technician, Maintenance Technician B performs repair and maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks, covering chassis components, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulic/electrical systems, air brakes, engine work, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering. The role also includes basic tire work such as replacement, rotation, and tread depth checks, and offers the chance to work on a single fleet of state‑of‑the‑art vehicles with training on new technologies, a regular shift in a stable industry, recognition for performance, community service, and competitive wages and benefits. • Repair and maintain diesel and non‑diesel trucks, including chassis, bodies, control, hydraulic, electrical, air brake, engine, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. • Perform basic tire services such as replacement, rotation, and tread depth checks. • Provide safe road service to return equipment to operational status. • Conduct line‑maintenance welding and fabrication tasks. • Diagnose equipment malfunctions using electronic diagnostic tools. • Maintain knowledge of vehicle components for preventative and corrective maintenance on‑site and on the road.

What You Bring
The technician maintains a working knowledge and moderate skill proficiency in vehicle components, performing preventative and corrective maintenance both on‑site and on the road. Responsibilities include chassis repair, refuse‑body systems, engine, suspension, drivetrain, steering, HVAC, line‑maintenance welding and fabrication, and safe road service to return equipment to operation. They diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools, complete required company training, and undertake other job‑related duties as assigned. Qualifications include a basic understanding of work‑order labor standards and prior experience with Classes 1‑5 light/medium‑duty and Classes 7‑8 heavy‑duty trucks, aircraft, or ships. ASE certifications (T1‑T8) and a Commercial Driver’s License are advantageous but not mandatory; a valid driver’s license is required. Minimum requirements are at least one year of technician experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment, or imminent graduation from an accredited automotive college or technical school within three months, and the ability to inspect key systems with limited supervision. • Complete required company training programs and certifications. • Minimum one year of experience diagnosing gasoline and diesel equipment or graduating from an automotive program within three months. • Ability to inspect heavy‑truck systems (suspension, steering, engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, emissions) with limited supervision. • Valid driver’s license (Commercial Driver’s License preferred).
