About the Role
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed cost plans, producing monthly cost reports and executive summaries, and coordinating cost information from design teams, contractors and vendors for validation. The incumbent will lead procurement strategies, conduct pricing reviews, manage change control throughout the project lifecycle, and support cost risk analysis, scenario planning and contingency management. Additional duties involve integrating cost with schedule and scope, driving value‑engineering initiatives, monitoring market trends, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring compliance with internal business management systems and SOX controls. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and estimates throughout design and delivery phases. • Produce monthly cost reports, executive summaries, and funding data for stakeholders. • Coordinate cost information from design teams, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for validation. • Lead procurement strategy, pricing reviews, scope validation, and commercial negotiations. • Manage change control: review, estimate, negotiate, reconcile change orders and post‑contract variances. • Support cost risk analysis, scenario planning, contingency management, and commitment tracking. • Integrate cost with schedule and scope, collaborating with project controls and Earned Value Management. • Drive value‑engineering initiatives and cost‑optimization strategies based on engineering priorities. • Monitor market trends (escalation, labor, material pricing) and provide timely insights. • Mentor and coach junior team members, fostering a high‑performance, one‑business culture.

What You Bring
The firm is hiring a Senior Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor to act as the primary client interface for a large‑scale, mission‑critical data centre programme. The role is remote‑based with approximately one week of travel each month to Amarillo, Texas, and requires delivering the project on time, within budget and to the highest standards while maintaining strong governance and stakeholder engagement. Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering or a related field and have five to seven plus years of cost management or project controls experience in mission‑critical environments such as data centres. Experience in construction consultancy, strong knowledge of MEP systems and campus‑scale infrastructure, expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, EVM and procurement, and RICS accreditation (or progress toward it) are preferred. Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and problem‑solving skills, as well as proficiency with industry‑standard cost management tools, are required.
