Operations Manager Trainee

About the Role

Daily responsibilities include developing front‑line talent, providing consistent touchpoints, reviewing best practices, and partnering with drivers and technicians to build job‑related skills. Trainees also coach employees, seek feedback, collaborate with various frontline managers, and acquire knowledge of DOT and OSHA safety programs, operational processes, performance management, dispatch, routing, and fleet maintenance. • Provide timely touchpoints with frontline employees and review best practices to improve performance. • Partner with drivers and technicians to develop job‑related skills. • Complete the assigned OMT training curriculum and related training modules. • Conduct coaching conversations, seek feedback, and collaborate with frontline managers across operations, fleet, sales, and district teams. • Learn DOT and OSHA safety programs, operational processes, performance management, dispatch, routing, and fleet maintenance. • Work in a mixed office and plant/field environment using standard office equipment.

What You Bring

The OMT training program prepares individuals to become front‑line Operations Managers through extensive field experience and hands‑on instruction. Trainees learn to increase profitability, maximize efficiency, improve customer satisfaction, and lead teams, and must be willing to relocate after training. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or a high school diploma with two years of relevant experience, have at least two years of work experience, be at least 18 years old, be legally authorized to work in the United States, and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean record throughout employment. The role combines office and plant/field environments, requiring use of standard office equipment such as computers and phones, while also meeting physical demands typical of field work.
