What You Bring

At Republic Services, Technicians maintain fleet performance by performing routine and preventive maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment. The Technician Apprenticeship program trains entry‑level technicians over two years in electrical, HVAC, wheel‑end, air system, air brake, hydraulic, and truck preventative maintenance. Success requires logical problem‑solving, enthusiasm for vehicle engineering, and a commitment to learning and company values. The apprenticeship is available across 180 business units nationwide. Apprentices begin with nine weeks of company‑paid training at the state‑of‑the‑art Republic Services Technical Institute in Dallas, Texas, followed by 22 months of on‑the‑job training, mentorship, and virtual instructor‑led technical content. High‑performing apprentices may advance to Level C Technician ahead of schedule. The Technical Institute also teaches leadership, life‑skills, and builds professional networks. Apprentices receive a dedicated mentor, direct supervision from a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Manager, and hands‑on experience in preventive maintenance, tire work, hydraulics, and electrical systems. Candidates must commit to the two‑year program, be logical problem‑solvers with an interest in engineering, work flexible schedules (including nights, weekends, and holidays), uphold safety and ethics values, be willing to live in Dallas for nine weeks of training, and relocate nationwide after graduation. Training starts March 23 2026. • Commit to a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and be willing to relocate as required.
