A global leader in power management, providing energy-efficient solutions for various industries.
Lead Engineer - Mechanical ETO
Lead engineer designs custom switchboard solutions, overseeing ETO, mentorship, and quality.
Job Highlights
About the Role
The Lead Engineer interprets detailed, non‑standard switchboard product requirements from customers and translates them into final design packages for the shop floor, ensuring smoother manufacturing of customized switchboards. He/she collaborates with field sales, end customers, and consulting engineers to accurately capture the intent of specifications and converts operating sequence descriptions into control and protection schematics. The role also supports automation initiatives and participates in global E‑plan deployment activities. Providing technical leadership, the Lead Engineer guides the team through Engineer‑to‑Order (ETO) processes, mentors engineers to improve quality and efficiency, and drives the development of new competencies. Responsibilities include mechanical design of various switchboard offerings (general purpose, IFS, GQC, metering), hands‑on work with PLCs, I/O modules, synchronization relays, contactors, and event recorders, and ensuring sound LV electrical product knowledge. Collaboration with global partners facilitates knowledge exchange and the creation of training plans. • Interpret non‑standard switchboard requirements and create final design packages for production. • Develop control and protection schematics from operating sequence descriptions. • Lead ETO processes, mentor engineers, and drive quality and efficiency improvements. • Design mechanical aspects of general purpose, IFS, GQC, and metering switchboards. • Configure PLC applications, I/O modules, synchronization relays, contactors, and event recorders. • Collaborate with global partners on knowledge exchange and training program development. • Champion process improvement, cost reduction, and smart electrical product solutions.
