SUE Technician II
Identify and map subsurface utilities using EM, GPR, and vacuum excavation.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Collaborate with a team to tackle diverse projects. • Read and interpret utility records, as‑built and survey drawings, and highway design plans. • Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies. • Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck, performing test holes to expose utilities. • Apply appropriate maintenance‑of‑traffic measures. • Initiate “One‑Call” tickets for utility locates. • Coordinate survey work related to SUE activities. • Supervise field crew activities. • Train junior crew members. • Represent Colliers Engineering & Design in the field and liaise with utility companies.

What You Bring
• Minimum 2 years experience with electromagnetic and geophysical utility‑designating technologies. • Experience operating vacuum excavation equipment (preferred). • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and software. • Strong computer, reading comprehension, and communication skills. • Willingness to work outdoors in varied weather and travel as needed. • Capability to walk several miles daily and lift equipment up to 80 lb. • Clean driving record and proficient driving skills. • Ability to read, write, and understand English for job‑related communication. • Eligibility for pre‑employment drug screening and ongoing random testing.
