About the Role

The role is within AECOM's Transmission and Distribution business in the UK and Ireland, a team of around 60 engineers delivering projects from small initiatives to large‑scale ventures such as the Great Grid Upgrade. You will collaborate with electrical, civil and mechanical experts to support the UK’s energy transition from concept to completion. • Develop and optimise protection & control (P&C) solutions, including line, schematic, relay, SCADA, wiring diagrams and design specifications. • Review supplier designs for technical compliance with National Grid or client policies and standards. • Act as Owner’s Engineer, commenting on supplier designs and calculations for high‑voltage, BESS and renewable projects. • Conduct protection coordination studies and settings calculations using ETAP or similar software.

What You Bring

• Hold an electrical/power engineering qualification (HNC/HND, BSc/BEng, MSc/MEng). • Experience in high‑voltage transmission design (132 kV‑400 kV) and P&C FEED or detailed design. • Knowledge of National Grid or SSE high‑voltage design processes. • Strong team player with client‑facing communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects flexibly. • Preferred background in consulting, utility, renewable generation or OEM environments.
