About the Role

• Perform safe construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized overhead distribution systems • Set poles and anchors • Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear • Troubleshoot primary and secondary electrical systems • Replace fuses in transformers and clear faulted circuits • Work with high‑voltage energized lines using proper safety precautions • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools • Conduct pre‑job or tailgate briefings • Perform reconductoring and mechanical jumper installation/removal • Use load buster tools, phase‑out lines, and obtain one‑shot on reclosers • Install and hook up single‑phase transformers • Properly install, remove, and inspect PPE and cover‑ups • Check voltage on transformers and tie in primary conductors • Climb various structures (wood, steel) with appropriate tools • Follow all company safety rules and policies

The Apprentice A Lineman (APA) is a semi‑skilled role focused on constructing, maintaining, and repairing electrical overhead distribution systems. Work is performed at various sites and may require interstate travel depending on customer needs. Safety and adherence to company policies are paramount. Candidates must have at least three years of field experience and be able to read and communicate effectively in English. A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) permit must be obtained within 60 days of hire, with a CDL being preferred. Applicants should be prepared for long‑distance travel, extended assignments, and the physical demands of lifting over 50 lb and performing rigorous labor. The position involves regular exposure to loud, outdoor environments, fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. Employees must be capable of working in inclement weather and may encounter extreme construction site conditions.
